World War 2
I became interested in World War 2 as some of my family fought in the war and some died in the concentration camps. I'll tell you more about that later.

The war started after Germany invaded Poland
1940
The Battle of Britain begins
1941
Japan attacks the Americans at Pearl harbour
1942
The first prisoners at Auschwitz are gassed (killed)
1944
D-Day - Allied forces land in France
1945
The war ends in Europe and Japan. America drops the first nuclear bomb called the "Fat Man"
The picture shows the Allies breaking the German flag which shows they wanted to win.
This is a children's "Mickey Mouse" gas mask, it was colourful to make it fun for them because it was scary.
The concentration camps
My family were Hungarian Jews and they got sent to Auschwitz where they were killed.
Everyone had to stay in one room and you saw people die and you didn't get much food, some lucky people manage to survive but all of them were brave.
A concentration camp is where people got sent by the Germans to die.
This picture is my family on my Dad's side.
The people with the red dots died in Auschwitz in 1944 near the end of the war.
My Greatgrandad got hidden by some kind people, he is number 3.
Even children died in concentration camps.

Horrible Histories: Woeful Second World War.
I enjoyed this book because it was really helpful because it had a big timeline with all the facts (it carried over two pages!)
Hettie and the London Blitz
Hettie and the London Blitz starts off when she got her gas mask fitted and she said that it looked like all of her friends turned into monsters. I enjoyed it.
Eyewitness World War II
I like this book because of how much detail it gave me.
